Centennial Park

The other night i headed over to Centennial Park in Coronado, California to shoot some photos of the skyline. Centennial Park is a lively stretch of land with several restaurants and bars that are right on the water overlooking the San Diego skyline. Although it was pretty foggy out i was surprised how vibrant and colorful the lights of the skyline were. I made sure some photos were longer exposed than i wanted to give the skyline a good reflection in the bay. So far i think this is the best skyline to see at night. If you are into photography or just enjoy sightseeing i recommend you take a trip here during or after sunset.

Seal Beach

Headed up to Seal Beach today in La Jolla, California. Although It was pretty foggy all along the coast we still got a clear view of all the seals that were perched up on the rocks. The waves were so strong that at times some of the seals were washed right off the rocks. Definitely a cool thing to watch since you can get pretty close to them.

Lawrence Welk Caves

       A bunch of sloppy cell phone pictures of the underground hidden caves in Escondido, California. The Lawrence Welk Caves are talus caves, which means they are formed by the spaces between large boulders. Water has washed out the soil between the boulders and left some spaces that form the "caves". These caves were intimidating at times because the entrance holes to some were just big enough to squeeze through. It's very claustrophobic and kind of scary getting into the caves, and you have dirt pouring down on you from above which is like being buried alive. Although i had the fear of getting lost in this vast underground area there is a bunch of yarn that runs down from the entrance to the bottom of the cave which gave me assurance. At one point we were more than 50 feet underground and eventually found a small stream of running water through one of the caves. We did not make it through the whole stretch of caves; we'll have to come back one day soon to finish it.
